COVID-19 (a.k.a. the coronavirus)

We all are navigating a different world now, after COVID-19, and every business needs to address this issue.   Please see below for my updated infection control measures, and new protocols in place to protect both patients and myself.

Infection Control Measures

  • I will take my temperature each morning, and throughout the day if I feel subjectively hot.

  • I will perform hand hygiene before and after each appointment, and throughout the day, as needed.

  • I will be wearing personal protection equipment which will include a mask, an apron or lab coat, and possibly glasses.

  • Hygiene products will be provided for use while in the office: alcohol-based hand sanitizer in a touchless dispenser, tissues, a touchless trash receptacle.

  • I will regularly disinfect all high touch areas in my office, throughout the day, e.g. door knobs, desk top, etc.

  • A portable HEPA filtration unit will be used to augment air quality, either during or between appointments.

Arrival Protocol

  • A basic health screening will be required at every visit.

  • Prior to traveling to your appointment, review the Health Screening questions (see below), and if you answer “Yes” to any of the questions, please cancel and reschedule your appointment. Likewise, if you answer “Yes” to the any of the questions during the screening performed immediately prior to your appointment, your appointment will need to be rescheduled.

  • In an effort to maintain safe physical distancing, please come to your appointment alone.

  • Please wear a face mask to and through-out your appointment, if tolerated.

  • Upon arrival for your appointment, please stay in your car. To check-in, TEXT me your name, and state that you have arrived for your appointment (206-234-9929).

  • I will call and review the health screening questions prior to your entry into the building.

  • Alcohol-based hand sanitizer will be provided for hand hygiene upon entry to, and prior to leaving the office.

  • After arrival, your temperature will be taken using a touch-less thermometer.  If it is 100.4 F or higher, your appointment will be rescheduled.

  • As the CDC suggests that COVID-19 infected respiratory droplets can be dispersed when people talk, talking will be minimal at your appointment, and primarily focus on bodywork.

  • Keep in mind that the restroom is a high touch area. To avoid contact, consider using your home restroom prior to traveling to your appointment.

Health Screening

If you answer “Yes” for any of the following questions, your appointment will need to be rescheduled.

Have you had any of the following in the past 24 hours?

  • Fever 100.4° F or higher (38° C)

  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

  • New onset fatigue or lack of energy

  • Muscle or body aches

  • New loss of sense of smell or taste

  • Congestion or runny nose

  • Nausea or vomiting

In the last two weeks have you:

  • Had exposure to someone diagnosed with COVDI-19?

  • Been advised to self-quarantine because of exposure to someone with COVID-19?

If “Yes” to any of the above questions, please contact your PCP for assessment, and further evaluation.
